PRESS RELEASE
Subject: Prince presents a Bill aimed at allowing content published on the internet to be removed only by order of a Court
08/02/2021
The Monarchist Alternative Party - PdAM Brazil, announces that His Royal Highness Prince Louis Philippe d'Orléans and Braganza, federal deputy, presented, on February 4 this year, together with Deputies Filipe Barros and Helio Lopes, a Proposal for Law (PL 213/2021) aimed at allowing internet providers to remove content posted by users, only through a judicial procedure. Arbitrary decisions such as those of the Twitter and Facebook platforms that culminated in the suspension of the accounts of US President Trump, demonstrate the enormous concentration of power of the companies that provide social networks and that, through corporate interests and without due legal process, censor and consequently violate the freedom of expression of thought and the freedom of information, fundamental rights and guarantees provided for by the Constitution of Brazil, article 5, point IX; This constitutional article provides: "The expression of intellectual, artistic, scientific and communication activities is free, regardless of censorship or licenses".
