At Bologna Motor Show innovation is spectacular
Building on its working paper entitled "Coordinated and integrated approach to combat the HIV/AIDS epidemic within the European Union and in its neighbourhood", the European Commission is trying to bring together all of the interested parties in a joint action programme. In this paper the Commission lays down targets and measures to be implemented by the end of 2009 for each of the areas in which action is needed. More detailed proposals for the main areas of action for the period 2006 - 2010 are presented in the Annex.
A crumbling bridge built with EU money but substandard materials, plagiarism in an EU research project, tomato importers evading customs duties, a retired official trying to increase his pension by illegal means: these are only four examples demonstrating the large variety of cases in which the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) intervened in 2007. OLAF presented today in Brussels its new Annual Activity Report which illustrates its work inside and outside the EU in 15 case studies and numerous statistical tables. At the end of 2007, OLAF was investigating a total of 408 cases.

17/07/2006 - 21/07/2006 - La Seconda Edizione della ARISER Summer School Europea sulle Terapie Minimamente Invasive e I Nuovi Sistemi Tecnologici Integrati, organizzata dall’Istituto di Fisiologia Clinica del CNR di Lecce, si terrà dal 17 al 21 luglio 2006, presso l’Albergo Palazzo di Santa Cesarea Terme (Lecce). l’iniziativa è sviluppata all’interno del Progetto ARISER Research Training Network nell’ambito delle azioni Marie Curie. l’obiettivo della scuola è la formazione multidisciplinare sulla realtà aumentata in chirurgia minimamente invasiva, affrontando le tematiche relative a Image Processing, Robotica, Interfacce aptiche, Display avanzato, Interfaccia chirurgo-macchina. La finalità è quella di ottenere lo stato dell’arte sulle suddette tematiche. La scuola è rivolta a fisici, ingegneri, medici ed informatici.
